What a wonderful day we had at the Pleasant Hills School where we held our meeting and International Day luncheon. We started the meeting with a minute’s silence in honour of Mrs Margaret Hasler, who passed away on 31st July. Margaret had been a valued member for 32 years, a former Branch President, and our chief jam spreader. She will be missed by all.

This year, CWA is studying the Republic of South Korea, and we served delicious Korean dishes for lunch. The students presented a wonderful PowerPoint presentation about what they had learned about the country.

Nett spoke on “Small Steps 4 Hannah,” a talk about coercive control and its role in Domestic Violence. We hope to hold another of these talks in the future to raise more awareness.

We have given away over $9,000 this year, a fair effort from our smaller Branch! CWA Awareness Week will be from 6th – 13th September.

Land Cookery was a wonderful surprise with 17 student cakes! Winners included Connor Barker (Sea Creatures) and Caitlin Barker (Chocolate Butter cake).
