Monday 21st July apparently was National Lamington Day, and Matt from 2AY put up a message on Facebook asking who makes the best lamington. Several bakeries were nominated and also Pleasant Hills CWA! This must have intrigued Matt, so he rang Head Office to find contact details for our Branch, then rang up and did an interview with me. I dropped off a dozen lamingtons to 2AY for them to try!
Nett Maloney is organising an event for “Small Steps for Hannah” on the 12th August at the Orana Community Centre in Springdale Heights. These sessions aim to empower the community about the early warning signs of coercive control.
We are going to have another Street Stall at Bunnings on 22nd August for general revenue. Land Cookery this month was the Coffee Sponge, won by Heather Barrett. In August, we have the children’s cooking competitions.
Our next meeting will be our International Meeting at the Pleasant Hills School on Wednesday 13th August, starting at 10am. We will provide a luncheon with dishes from South Korea.
