Our monthly meeting was held in Henty, where we were pleased to welcome new member Von Heald.
State Conference in Wagga
The CWA State Conference in Wagga Wagga was a great success. Carol Grylls and Lyn Jacobsen served on the State Organising Committee, and our branch members were in charge of the canteen at the Multi-Purpose Stadium, which proved to be a popular catering hub for volunteers and visitors.
We are thrilled to congratulate Kay Dean for winning third prize in the State Land Cookery competition with her Remembrance Biscuits!
Looking Ahead
Next year marks the 90th anniversary of our Pleasant Hills Branch, and we are investigating a special project at the Hall to commemorate this milestone. The Riverina Group will also be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.
Community Support
We have been asked to cater for a Biggest Morning Tea in Thurgoona, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council. Additionally, the NSW State Disaster Relief Fund has donated a further $500,000 to Queensland for flood relief, totaling $600,000 for the year.
Our next meeting will be at the Commercial Club in Albury on the 11th June at 10:30am.
