Our April meeting was held at the Commercial Club in Albury. We celebrated a very successful Street Stall at Bunnings, which raised over $1,700 for the Queensland Flood Victims. The funds have been forwarded to the CWA Disaster Fund.
State Conference Preparations
The State Conference is being held in Wagga this year from 19th – 22nd May. Carol Grylls and Lyn Jacobsen are serving on the State Organising Committee. The displays at the conference—including handicrafts, cultural, and international exhibits—are open to the public and well worth a visit.
Carol and Lyn are also in charge of the canteen at the Multi-Purpose Stadium, and members have been asked to contribute slices to help cater for the many volunteers.
Branch News
International Officer Nett Maloney gave an informative talk on our country of study, South Korea. The branch also held a mini fund-raiser with hot cross buns.
We are beginning our 2025-26 round of Land Cookery, with the first two items being a Chocolate Butter Cake and Pineapple and Onion Relish. We wish all our members with entries in the Land Cookery and Handicrafts the best of luck at the State level.
Special thanks to Narelle Morey for laying the branch wreath at the ANZAC Day Ceremony.
