We held our International Meeting and the Children’s Land Cookery Competition at the Pleasant Hills Primary School with some guests. We were so thrilled that we had eleven entries from the students. Winners in the 8 yrs and under (Decorated Cup Cakes) were 1st James Terlich, 2nd Lucy King. In the 12 yrs and under (Packet Cake), 1st Samantha Terlich, 2nd Connor Barker, and 3rd Mauve Turner. Thanks to the parents for encouraging their children to enter.
After our meeting, we prepared and served a luncheon with a French theme to the students and guests. The students entertained us with a wonderful Power Point Presentation on France. The State International Officer, Jenny Chobdzynski, presented the school with books on France. Kay Dean also shared stories of her time in France.
Catering for the Field Days was discussed; members will be making slices and sandwiches, with wraps added to the menu this year. We are also looking into getting our own CWA banner.
In the other Land Cookery sections, the 18 yrs and under Chocolate Cake was won by Natalie Hasler. In the Seniors, the Plain Butter Cake was won by Lyn Lieschke, 2nd Natalie Hasler, and 3rd Margaret Hasler. Next meeting will feature Coconut Loaf and Magic Bean Cake (Gluten Free).
