Our Branch once again met at the Commercial Club for our meeting. Eunice McRae was presented with a bouquet of flowers for accepting the position of our Patron. The Group’s International Day was held on 29 April with three members attending. Our Country of Study this year is France, so it will be an interesting day. Kay gave another talk on some of her experiences whilst visiting France.

We decided to hold a stall at Bunnings, which was very successful, with thanks to the ladies who cooked and manned the stall. Henty Day Branch, with both Henty Evening and Pleasant Hills helping with some cooking, held a stall in Henty for Carevan which was extremely successful. We thank Narelle Morey for representing our CWA Branch at the Pleasant Hills Anzac Day Service.

We have sent an order through to Head Office which we will collect at State Conference. We are also going to order some Land Cookery books to pick up at Conference. Our Branch has four members attending State Conference. We wish our members who won first prize with their cooking at Group Level every success when they compete at State level at Coffs Harbour.

CWA of NSW is increasing its contribution to the Rural Doctors Network, and we will now donate six Bush Bursaries with a value of $1500 each. News from State Head Office is that CWA of NSW has donated $50,000 to Victoria for Bushfire and Flood Relief and another $50,000 to Queensland for Flood Relief.

Sadly, Wendy has had a fall and broken her ankle, so we wish her a speedy recovery.

Our next meeting will be held a week later than normal on the 15th May, due to State Conference in Coffs Harbour that week. We will meet at the Commercial Club in Albury at 10.30am.
