Congratulations to Rick Clancy on receiving a Life Membership from the Hume Football Netball League for his long service to umpiring and organizing finals for over 20 years.
Rick’s passion for Australian Rules football is legendary. After his senior playing career was cut short at age 18 due to concussions, he turned to umpiring. Thirty-five years later, he is still involved in the game with the same fervor.
A Lifetime of Service
- Walbundrie Football Club: Secretary from 1991–2000, committee member for over 20 years, Life Member (2001), and Hall of Fame inductee (2010).
- Hume Football League: Umpire Co-ordinator for ten years, training countless members to become accredited umpires.
- Awards: 2007 Boundary Umpire of the Year, 2010 Hume Volunteer of the Year, and 2015 AFL NSW/ACT Umpiring Volunteer Award.
Rick is a familiar face at Walbundrie on Thursday evenings for training and always loves a good yarn about the weekend's games. His dedication to country football is truly an inspiration to the community.
