We held our March meeting at the Commercial Club with a good number of members present.
New Patron
We are proud to announce that Eunice McRae has been made our Patron for the Pleasant Hills Branch!
Community Support
A donation was sent to the Narrandera Evening Branch for their “Bake for Babies” High Tea, which raised over $2500 for the Canberra Hospital. The “Carevan” box at Dales IGA continues to be well-supported by the community.
Handicraft and Land Cookery Success
Four members attended the Group Handicraft and Land Cookery Day at Collingullie:
- Handicrafts: Our set of four glasses cases won first prize and moves on to State. Jessica Maloney secured second place in the junior craft section (9-12 years).
- Land Cookery: The Branch came second in the Group.
- Junior Cooks: Natalie Hasler came first with the Tea Cake, and Caitlin Barker came second. Jessica Maloney won first for decorated cupcakes, with Maeve Turner coming second.
Overall, Pleasant Hills achieved 6 first prizes, 4 seconds, and 4 thirds—an excellent result for a small branch!
Upcoming
We will be studying France for our International segment, and the Group International Day will be held on 29th April at The Rock.
