We had a good roll up for our first meeting of the year. The first excitement for the year was winning the CWA Exhibit at the Henty Show this year. They had an amazing number of 9 entries, so plenty of competition! We actually won “back-to-back”, since we also won last year, so thanks to all the ladies who contributed.
Henty Show Success
Several of our members also entered individual items:
- Margaret Hasler won the cooking championship.
- Lynette Maloney won a photography section.
- Junior member Natalie Hasler won the novice cooking section.
- Junior member Jessica Maloney won the 8–10 year craft section.
It was noted that jams etc. in competitions must have new lids.
Community Support
We are joining with the two Henty CWA Branches in a Food Security Program, asking the community to support this with donations of food, baby-products, and sanitary items. There is a box at Dales IGA for donations to CAREVAN and local food security groups.
