Ron Wooden
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Ron Wooden. Ron and his brother attended the Pleasant Hills School and worked at the Chaff Mill. Our thoughts are with his wife Marion and their family.
Jim Banner
In December, locals gathered to say a final goodbye to James “Jim” Banner on the banks of the Urangeline Creek. His ashes were spread with a unique "chainsaw serenade" and a shotgun salute. A memorial plaque now overlooks his old yabby shed, where his thriving business once operated.
Football Club Podcast
Research into the Pleasant Hills Football Club (which folded in 1955) is progressing well. Robbie Mackinlay is finalizing a podcast that will be accessible via a QR code. Stay tuned for the launch date in the coming months.
Esplanade Update
Work on the Esplanade has stalled due to weather conditions. We are waiting for a window to perform a cold burn. Be assured that the council is being kept on their toes regarding this project.
