The Hume Country Tennis competition has commenced with fine weather over the first three rounds.
Section 3a, after losses but good matches in the first two rounds, won by one game against Brocklesby in round 3. Very exciting! We’ve also welcomed several new women to the team which is wonderful.
Section 5 (combined with Gerogery West) also have one win (by two games) and lost a close one too. Section 6 (also combined) haven’t posted a win yet but have had some good tennis, especially in the first two rounds.
Unfortunately, it’s not likely our new courts will be ready until next season, which we’re all disappointed about, with the delay being over 12 months at best. So we will look forward to next season when our grades can play at home together more often.
Matt, who has been running our coaching, is a little tangled in Wagga at the moment due to their main courts being redone and having to hire other courts on a whole week basis. He’s trying to work that out so he can come out sometime in Term 4, but he luckily was able to get some coaching in during Term 3.
Thanks to everyone who has helped get the courts, clubhouse etc. ready for the season.
