The Pleasant Hills Preschool recently celebrated its 50th year. The building itself has a fascinating history; it was originally the United Farmers and Wool Growers Association (UFWG) building.

The UFWG existed between 1962 and 1978, representing a collection of farmers sharing information and requesting community works. In 1986, the meeting room was offered to the Lockhart Shire Council for a nominal sum, provided it be used for public utility.

Council then offered the building to the Preschool. Between October 1986 and April 1987, the building was relocated to the hall grounds and completely refitted. It was officially opened by Lockhart President Mr. Ern Rockliff on August 4, 1987.
