The time of year has rolled around
that’s known as Daylight Savings.
It’s something that you love or hate
because of good points and its failings.

On the first October Sunday clocks
go forward by one hour.
A smart phone updates by itself as you
linger in the shower.

It’s hard to get the kids to bed when it’s
still bright outside.
You’ll pull the blinds and hope that
soon to slumber they will slide.

A farmer has more daytime hours to
check his calving stock.
His dinner will be late tonight thanks to
that ruddy clock.

Some folks will mow lawns after work as
they like the extra light.
Not so the Vet who’s out on call, she
could be up all night.

It should be noted not all States
observe this change in time.
And some maintain the extra sun fades
washing on the line.

So, choose to like or lump it, for now it’s
here to stay.
It’s just six months till April, so we might
as well make hay.
