Our meeting was held in Albury at the Commercial Club. The Branch presented the four members who won prizes at State level with a plant each – the three Lyn’s with their first prize and Jessica Maloney with her second Prize.
The Riverina Council Meeting was held on Monday, 31st July in Wagga, with several members attending. We held a Function at the Albury CWA Rooms where we invited people to come and learn what services are available through My Aged Care. The speakers came from Canberra and were very enlightening. Over thirty people attended, and afterwards enjoyed a light luncheon. We also had a raffle, which helped with the funds, giving us a profit of $200 which is going to Food Share.
We are also holding another cake stall at Bunnings. We hope to raise $500 at this for our Albury Cancer Hospital. However, this will probably be the last stall until after the Field Days.
Several of our members are planning to attend Gerogery Branch’s 80th Birthday Luncheon in August. Our August Meeting will be held at the Pleasant Hills School as it will be our International Meeting. This year, we are featuring Australia. Everyone is welcome to join us at the Pleasant Hills School at 12.45pm on Wednesday 9th August when we will serve an “Australian Luncheon”.
At our meeting, we had two Land Cookery sections – Plain Butter Cake, won by junior member, Natalie Hasler, second Lyn Lieschke, and third, Margaret Hasler, and Ginger Fluff Sponge, 1st Lyn Lieschke, 2nd Lyn Jacobsen and 3rd Margaret Hasler.
