Historical records from the Albury Banner and other gazettes reveal the early days of Munyabla and Pleasant Hills. In 1887, Herman Kurtze, schoolmaster at Munyabla, passed away at just 20 years old. In 1894, farmers complained about the lack of polling places for sheep board elections.

Munyabla was proclaimed a village on 31st December 1892. A 1908 letter from Sophia Schultz (age 13) describes the new buildings in Henty, including a two-story bank and hotel, and the splendid look of the crops after the rain.
