It’s time to forgo trouser leg As Winter and Spring are done The days are getting warmer The heat of Summer has come.
While sunny skies see temperatures rise Long pants have had their day It’s time to pack my ample stack Of slacks and jeans away.
I thought I’d find a pair of shorts More suitable to wear Rummaging throughout all the drawers I thought I’d find them there.
And there they were, all squashed and creased Hiding in drawer number three I pulled them out with shreds of doubt I hoped they’d still fit me.
And on they went, oh happy days My legs were now quite coolish I saw with fright they were extremely white And then felt slightly foolish.
The purpose of this jaunty verse Is to have a bit of fun. And the moral of the story? Well, It’s quite a simple one.
OK, I know this fable is A tale of simple jest But what to wear when it’s hot out there? Shorts are always best.
