Now that Spring is finally here The sun has shown its face It’s time to get my E-bike out And ride around the place.
Perhaps before I say much more And people start to glower An E-bike is an electric bike The battery provides more power.
You charge it up before you go And secure it in its place Purists say it’s the cheaters way I’m not here to win a race.
There’s loads of roads I can explore Some tracks are still too wet I’ll find a lane or corridor And work up quite a sweat.
The pedal assist is such a gift It means I can ride further Even on the steepest hills My legs don’t scream blue murder.
The wider seat cannot be beat Long rides are much more fun A chair to rest one’s derriere A cradle for your bum!
A magpie cries but doesn’t swoop It settles in its tree As I cycle underneath I know it’s watching me.
Cattle stare from behind the fence They stamp their feet and snort Perhaps I’ll find a different spot To enjoy the snacks I’ve brought.
And when the shadows start to grow The cricket calls get stronger Reluctantly I head for home I’d rather linger longer.
But even when I’m riding back And making good headway The best thing about an E-bike is New adventures every day.
