Our September meeting was held in Henty, where we observed a minute’s silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. The Field Days were a highlight, with our members decorating the stage to depict 100 years of CWA. Our fashion parade of dresses from the past century drew large crowds, and we were honored to have State President Mrs Joy Beames speak.
We raised just under $800 through mud cake raffles, benefiting Prostate Cancer, Riverina Bluebell, Avondale Place Henty, and St John’s Ambulance. Special thanks to Kate Aldridge for her cake decorating demonstrations and Judy Knoble for the beautiful flower arrangements.
Around 50 dozen scones were sold over the three days, and Mal Fowler of 2AY won the “Scone Challenge” by eating 5 ½ scones in one minute!
Our next meeting will be our Annual Meeting on Wednesday 19th October in Albury, starting at 10am. Please note the date is a week later than usual due to the Group Conference.
