We had a surprise guest at our recent meeting – the Group President, Mrs Carol Grylls, was in town and joined us. We finalised the details for the Bunnings BBQ, which was very successful, and we thank everyone who helped.
We moved a motion to send $500 straight through to the Far North Coast Group for their immediate needs after the second lot of flooding. We have already sent two lots of money to the State Disaster Relief Fund. We also had a successful fund-raiser for Easter, selling over 40 dozen hot cross buns.
Our thanks to Narelle Morey for representing us at the Pleasant Hills Anzac Day Ceremony. We discussed the motions on the State Conference Agenda, and we hope our two Delegates, Nett and Margaret, have a great time at the CWA of NSW’s 100th Conference! The CWA of NSW Disaster Relief Fund Committee has made available $500,000 to support flood recovery efforts across the State, including $200,000 to GIVIT and $100,000 to Foodbank NSW/Act.
Our next meeting will be in Henty on Wednesday, 11th May at the B&B, starting at 10.30am. Also, we wish Marie Jacobsen and Tim Gale all the best for their wedding on 7th May.
