Our February Meeting was held in Albury, with a good attendance of members. Alison Kincaid, OAM was our guest speaker. She is so very deserving of her Order of Australia Medal as during her time, she has given so much to so many throughout her nursing career, starting Albury’s first sexual health service in 1996, then continuing on in various other roles.

Lynette Maloney and Margaret Hasler will be our delegates at the coming Centenary Conference, to be held in Sydney in the first week of May. We have our knitted Teddy Bears for the Sydney Royal 100-year show bags and the Publicity Book Entry in the Daily Advertiser Publicity Award ready to be posted to Sydney.

We have sent money to both the Tonga Disaster Relief appeal, and also the Flood Relief Appeal. The Uranquinty Sconversation Evening was a great success. The panel consisted of several people involved in various mental health groups, and it was interesting to hear what is being done and what still needs to be done in this area of health in our Region. This forum is to be made available on zoom if anyone is interested. For these details, please contact Lyn Jacobsen on 0428690222.

We have some very talented ladies within our Riverina Group, and Uranquinty CWA deserve lots of credit for organising such an upmarket event. For our CWA Centenary Year, Head Office has organised a special Commemorative 100 Year Badge, and we are sending in an order for some of these. The Primary Product for this year is Coffee.

Our Handicraft and Land Cookery Day is to be held at Galore on Saturday, 19th March, and we are hoping for record number of entries in the Land Cookery for this our Centenary Year. Members who have handicraft items are asked to bring them to our next meeting so that we can sort our Branch exhibit. Nett has given us some Trivia questions to answer at the next meeting.

We have been allocated a Bunnings BBQ in Albury on Saturday, 9th April, and as Saturday’s are very busy at Bunnings, if anyone would be able to help us that day for a couple of hours we would really appreciate it.

Our next meeting will be in Henty on Wednesday, 9th March at 10.30am at the Henty B & B, and interested persons are welcome to join us.

Lyn, CWA
