This Timber Jack is at Cobargo on a farm and was involved in the bushfires last year. It was parked in reverse in a locked shed. When the fire came through, a spark got into the battery wiring, starting the engine!

The tractor reversed out, taking the shed door with it. It traveled across an area, down a twelve-foot embankment, turned ninety degrees, and backed up towards the house and orchard before finally stalling against a very solid big post.

While two nearby sheds were burnt in the very hot fire and almost nothing was salvageable, the tractor survived. It needed new tyres, a battery, and a seat, but otherwise, it was intact. A truly remarkable story!
