In 1890, mail was conveyed from Yerong Creek via Mundawaddera, Munyabla, and Pleasant Hills. The township was well-serviced by Henty and Lockhart mails, arriving multiple times a week.

Early mail contractors included H. Duncan, M. Maxwell, E. Klemke, F. Fischer, and others. Before the train line opened, contractors like Brady’s brought the mail from Henty; later, the train handled the bulk of the transport.

The Post Office

The Pleasant Hills Post Office was established on 1st March 1890, in the charge of Rev. CH Fischer. He was succeeded by Rev. E Bemmann later that year. In 1904, residents applied for a telephone office and money order facilities (the latter was initially unsuccessful). By 1907, JW Renner was appointed postmaster, with his premises adjoining the school ground.

Today, the Post Office is located in the Pleasant Hills Community Hotel building and operates Monday to Friday, with mail delivered three times a week.
