Welcome back to Term 3 and what a start we’ve had! COVID has hit NSW again, so we are currently classified under Level 2 restrictions. Unfortunately, news this week has also put the Lockhart Shire (out of the bubble) with Victoria. Thank you to all of you for the support and communication to the school during this time – we are in this together!
Athletics and Activities
There are 5 students attending the SRPSSA Athletics Carnival in Albury on Wednesday 28th July representing Greater Kengal. We wish you all the best and hopefully the weather will stay fine.
The Bluearth sessions started last Thursday 22nd July and will continue every fortnight until the end of Term 3. Our school was very fortunate to receive an Australian Sports Commission grant to fund some of this program. The students have enjoyed their first session last week.
Education Week was to have been held Week 3, but unfortunately has been postponed until later in the term due to Covid restrictions. A date will be advised as soon as possible.
School Improvements and CWA Project
Thanks to Phil Salzke who has been busy painting parts of the concrete play area under the COLA. The painting has brightened up the area considerably.
Our planned CWA International Day scheduled on Wednesday 11th August has also been cancelled due to COVID restrictions. Mrs Baaten and her Year 3-6 class have started a project on the CWA’s country of study Malaysia and will submit it at the end of Term 3 for judging by the CWA.
Awards and Fundraising
Merit Award – Week 1: Caitlin Barker, for always helping others. Achievement Award- Week 1: Charlotte Heald, for a fantastic story written from a stimulus image.
Our Biggest Morning Tea held at the end of Term 2 raised $251.00. What a great effort, thank you to everyone who supported this very worthwhile cause.
P&C Pie Drive
The PHPS P&C have organised a Pie Drive with the Henty Bakery to help fundraise for our children’s school. Please find attached at the end of the Pleasant Hills Newsletter a list of the sausage rolls, savoury & sweet pies available to purchase.
On behalf of the P&C, I would like to thank you for your on-going support of our school.
Amanda Male, P&C President
