Recently I purchased the book “Henty’s Heroes”. It is a beautiful book which documents the stories of the local veterans of the Great War. It was written by Yvonne Booth, with some input by other locals, including our own Peter Sharp.

Copies of this book can be purchased in Henty. Some of these stories are of Veterans from Pleasant Hills. However, there are a few veterans not in the book which are on the handcrafted honor roll at the Pleasant Hills Hall.

When I looked a little further, I found this book that was produced in 2015 for the 100 years of the ANZAC at Pleasant Hills. It is wonderful that we have a beautiful book to remember the Veterans of the Great War.

This then got me thinking about the veterans of the WW2 honor roll. I’d like to do something to remember the Veterans who served in World War 2. If anyone has any connection to any of these Veterans, or any that are not listed on the board at the Hall, it would be great to get some photos to hang at the hall.
