Last month, we had a lovely day with just a few participants in the Free Motion Quilting and Walking Foot technique day, others continued to work on their unfinished projects. A big Thank you to Louise for providing instruction sheets and bringing show and tell of her free motion and walking foot work on art quilts/wall-hangings that she completed at Galong Patchwork Weekend.
We gathered up more completed Kids Quilts for Ronald McDonald House. This is the last call for anyone who is still working on theirs to finish and drop them to Debbie at Henty Post Office by Thursday 3rd June 2021, Elaine Scholz will be collecting them, and some will be displayed in the church. There are too many to display them all so please do not be bombarded if yours is not on display. This was a great effort by all who participated in the making of quilts for Cancer Kids. A very worthwhile cause indeed.
St Paul's Lutheran Church welcomes anyone who wishes to attend their Church Service on Saturday 5th June 2021 at 9.30 and/or hear the Speaker, Lisa from Ronald McDonald House at approximately 10:15am in the church. You are welcome to come along and hear her speech, even if you are not intending to attend the church service. Just enter the church and be seated.
Our next meeting is a UFO on Saturday June 19th, so come along and enjoy the day working on your unfinished quilts. How are those Kaleidoscope and Fat Quarter quilts/blocks coming along? Please bring show and tell as we love seeing your work either complete or progressing. Bring your lunch and enjoy a cuppa, $6 for hall hire, sewing machine and requisites.
For your information, Gunning Patchwork Weekend which is held last weekend in June every year will not be having any classes or tutors in 2021 due to COVID, instead they are having a UFO Weekend. They call it FAT Quarter which stands for Finish And Talk and is held in Showground hall.
