CWA — 85th Birthday Medallions and Flood Relief Efforts

The Pleasant Hills CWA celebrated its 85th Birthday with a luncheon at Soden’s Hotel in Albury. During the low-key celebration, members were presented with CWA 85th medallions. A special highlight was the presentation of a Long Service Bar to Lyn Lieschke, who also had the honour of cutting the birthday cake.

Disaster Relief

The branch has been active in supporting the NSW Flood Disaster Relief Appeal. Through the sale of hot cross buns and catering for a birthday dance, the branch raised $1000 to send to the appeal.

Success at Cultural Day

At the Cultural Day held at The Rock on 19th April, Pleasant Hills entered a humorous skit that took third place. Lyn Jacobsen was awarded the Best Actress Award for her performance.

Looking ahead, two members—Bev Frohling and Margaret Hasler—are attending the 99th State Conference in Bega. The branch is also preparing for a Bunnings BBQ fundraiser on 5th June and an agricultural bus trip on 31st May.
