The Pleasant Hills CWA recently held its meeting in Henty. The next meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 13th April, to coincide with the branch's 85th Birthday. The celebration will take place at Soden’s Hotel at 11am.
The branch expressed gratitude to the Pleasant Hills Patchwork Group for their donation of beautifully made carry bags, which will be filled with niceties for Mother's Day gifts for homeless women or victims of domestic violence. The branch also donated money to the Associated Country Women of the World.
Group Handicraft and Land Cookery Day
At the recent Group Handicraft and Land Cookery Day in Uranquinty, the branch scored exceptionally well:
- Handicrafts: Eunice McRae (Patchwork Quilt, over 80s), Louise & Natalie Hasler (Deco Art), and Bev Frohling (Land Knitting) all secured first prizes and will progress to State level.
- Cookery: The branch was the most successful in the group by membership percentage. First prize winners heading to State include Margaret Hasler (light fruit cake), Louise Hasler (Butterfly Cakes, under 18), and Lyn Jacobsen (Donna Latter Chocolate Cake). Bev Frohling earned second prize for Tomato Relish.
Guest speaker Emma Reynolds, Wagga Wagga’s Road Safety Officer, provided valuable information on road safety. The next meeting and birthday celebration will be held on April 13th.
