We are having our Christmas Party at Soden’s Hotel, meeting at 11am on Wednesday, 2nd December, for a quick meeting before our Luncheon. We will be drawing our raffle for the Ryobi Plus1 Home Essentials Kit and the Sophie Conran plate the following day.
Volunteer of the Year Awards
The Volunteer of the Year Awards are being held virtually this year, which allows all our Pleasant Hills CWA Ladies Team the chance to “be there”. It is a great honour to be the winners of the Riverina Region, and we look forward to the State Judging.
Pleasant Hills CWA Ladies Team: Marie Solyk, Bev Frohling, Lyn Jacobsen, Lynette Maloney, Bev McLellan, Lyn Lieschke, and Margaret Hasler. (Missing: Narelle Morey and Eunice McRae).
Book Donations
A Newsagency in Lavington has given us lots of Children’s Story Books. Nett Maloney spent time sorting almost 700 books into sets, which we have given to twelve local schools and preschools. We will be giving the others to schools in bush fire regions for students who lost their homes.
Community Support
- Our Care Packs were very well received by people isolated from their families, with over 200 bags distributed.
- We have organised a small plaque for the defibrillator, noting it was donated by Pleasant Hills CWA and the Henty Bendigo Community Bank.
- Lamington drives have finished for the year, but muffin orders are now being taken.
Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a better 2021!
Lyn Jacobsen, CWA President
