Our recent meeting was held in the Henty CWA Rooms, where we welcomed two visitors, Coralyn Warren & Kaye Dean. However, all CWA meetings are now in recess until further notice due to the restrictions in place because of COVID-19.
The Group Council Meeting was held recently, and it was reported that the Group has financially helped several people in our region who were affected by the recent bushfires. Riverina Group’s project for this year is Sunflower House in Wagga Wagga, a place where people with mental health issues are able to go from Monday to Friday.
Fundraising and Donations:
- We have had two Scone & Muffin Stalls recently, raising money for the Disaster fund and our general funds.
- Henty IGA donated $469.83 from their yearly Community Chest Program to the Riverina Group Bushfire Appeal.
- Several more thank-you messages have been received from branches and groups that received money from our Pamper Pack funds.
Cancellations: Due to COVID-19, the Handicraft & Land Cookery Day (March 21st), State Conference, and the Sydney Show have all been cancelled. The Cultural Day (April 20th) has been put on hold.
