We started off the year on a rather sad note, farewelling Mrs Roma Morey, who had been a much loved and valued member for nearly forty years. Roma had held many positions in the Branch over the years, including President, Secretary, Vice President and Handicraft Officer. She also restored the large kitchen table at the Hall. Members formed a guard of honour at the conclusion of her Funeral Service. Our morning meeting venue was changed to Albury, given that Roma’s funeral was in Albury later the same day. A minute’s silence was held at the meeting.

The money that wasn’t used buying goods for the Pamper Packs has been distributed to the areas where the packs were given, to be used in some way as drought support, and we have had some very grateful replies.

Bev Frohling & Lyn Jacobsen will be our Branch delegates to State Conference, which is being held in Newcastle in early May. The Riverina Group Bus leaves from Wagga early Sunday morning, 3rd May.

Our Branch was given first place for our entry in the Henty Show CWA exhibit, and we thank our new member, Nett for her contributions.

The Group Handicraft and Land Cookery Day is to be held at Uranquinty on Saturday, 21st March, where we will have entries in both. The Land Cookery Officer, Margaret, handed out lists to all the cooks who had won prizes during the year at Branch level, and are now eligible to enter the Group contest.

Hopefully we will find some appropriate photos to enter.

Disaster Relief: Money was sent in early January to a Branch catering for Bush Fire workers, and we will be sending a large donation to the CWA State Disaster Fund. We held a Scone & Muffin Stall last Friday at Bunnings, raising money towards this. We will also be having another Bunnings Stall on Friday 6th March.

The NSW CWA Disaster Relief Fund is used only in Australia, & mainly in NSW. The fund is predominantly being utilised for Drought Relief currently with bush fire relief available via branches. CWA has so far handed out over 16 million dollars since July 2018 to Drought Relief and helped just on 10,000 people.
